To impart value based education and an essence of research to the students in all walks of life. The department provides individual attention towards knowledge and character building, personality development along with educational excellence.

EVENTS ORGANIZED

      The Department is always effervescent with activities related to science and technology. Some of the important events organized by the Department are

• Science Day celebration on every year at Mahendra Engineering College.
• One day workshop on Environment and Pollution Awareness (Aug-2004) sponsored by AICTE.

RESEARCH WORK UNDERTAKEN

• Synthesis and fabrication of nanobioceramic materials and its coatings on implantable metal for orthopedic and dental applications.
• Synthesis of environmental friendly polymers and polymer nanocomposites for dye sensitized solar cell and anticorrosive applications.
• The interest is expanded to use natural eco-friendly inhibitors for controlling mild steel corrosion in acidic medium.
• The study of inhibition effect of benzotriazole, Formazan derivatives, Adhathoda vasica (AV) extract, cotton seeds and peel as inhibitors for mild steel corrosion in 1N citric acid medium on mild steel. It was extended by continuing the same project in hydrochloric and sulphuric acid medium.
• The Department started research work a analyzing water sample. Water samples from various places in and around our college area were collected and analyzed in the Chemistry Laboratory. The work is in progress.
