About the Department
The Department of Cyber Security is established during the year 2020 with the intake of 60 to produce cyber specialists. The faculty members are trained in the field of Cyber Security through various national and international training programmes. The students are motivated to enrich their knowledge in the cyber security professional area and inculcate values to practice cyber security standards in real world situations by providing various cyber awareness workshops and hands on trainings.

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
- Engineering knowledge : Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization of the solution of complex engineering problems
- Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences
- Design and Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations
- Investigation of problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions
- Modern Tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations
- Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice

- The students got trained using additional courses based on cyber security from Infosys Springboard, Oracle academy and Palo Alto Networks
- The students conducted department level CTF event semester wise and trained themselves for quick response on basics of cyber security
- The students achieved various cyber security certification courses like EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker, etc and enhancing their cyber skills regularly

Mahendra Engineering College serves as a National Resource Centre, National Cyber Safety and Security Standards started from 2020 and performed a number of events within the college and create cyber safety and security awareness programmes around various schools and colleges.
Mahendra Engineering College serves as Oracle academy from 2022 onwards and can resolve technical issues using Oracle support services. It is used for enhancing the database systems theoretical clarification and better understanding to our students and also helpful to complete Oracle Certified Associate certificates.
